JFSC Winner of 2016 Kovod Award

Jewish Family Service Calgary was the proud recipient of the first place Kovod award presented at the recent AJFCA 44th Annual Conference that was held in San Diego, CA this May.

The award of excellence was presented in recognition of the Holocaust Survivor Home Care Program at JFSC.  JFSC Claims Conference Department assists eligible holocaust survivors to apply for different types of compensation including emergency financial assistance and home care. In the last few years, JFSC has established a Home Care program that helps survivors to stay independent in their homes for as long as possible.

The award comes to a team of professionals who do much more than simply providing basic home care to these valued and important members of our community. Each individual is treated with respect and dignity with a focus on the whole person and their quality of life.

The Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies (AJFCA) is a membership organization for Jewish human service agencies in the United States and Canada. AJFCA has approximately 130 member agencies, representing most of the eligible Jewish family and children's agencies in North America. To learn more about the Home Care Program, visit www.jfsc.org.
